A Message from the Commodore
Thanks to everybody who came out last Friday to help celebrate Kitsap County's Washington Healthy Phase 2 reopening! We had a good mix of people and a great vibe going. Lots of smiles! If you missed out, don’t miss this Friday....Adult drinks, Adult Grilled Cheese and Dessert, and of course lots of smiles! Can’t beat that! Sign up early so you can reserve your seat.
With this reopening, we are working on a lineup of Friday night plans and I will reemphasize the importance of your volunteering commitments. It takes a village to provide fun events for our members. If you are concerned about getting out and about right now, I totally understand. Perhaps prepare a meal in the safety of your home and we can arrange other helpers to pick it up and serve at the club in your name. We have lots of great cooks out there and will need your help as we build out our calendar and get rocking and rolling again.
We were lucky to have the President of the Recreational Boating Association of Washington, Bob Wise, as our guest speaker. Bob shared information about the RBAW mission and some of the critical work they are doing as the only WA state organization that lobbies to help protect our rights as boaters. Please stay tuned for more information about their activities and how you can help support their efforts. Read about it now in the news article on our website,
RBAW Key Legislative & Regulatory Issues.
Be sure to see the updates on Member Engagement below. We inducted two new members last month, had two more this month, and have two more in the application process, with about 16 others showing interest in joining as we get moving again this summer. The word is out – KCYC is a fun place and an active community partner.
As part of this month’s General Meeting we saw that our current finances continue to reflect a healthy outlook despite the COVID restrictions. We have shown careful management of expenses and made prudent decisions to help us weather through. How can you help you may ask? Please check that you are paid current on your annual dues.
